Conditions on the dam were far from ideal as this pic shows. A lot of work will be required to clear the course of Hyacinth and relay the lanes before SA Champs.

Buffalo Regatta Info for Parents & Rowers
The Buffalo Regatta takes place in East London from 14th to 16th February.
We will be leaving on Wed 13th Feb and returning on Mon 18th Feb.
All rowers are to be at school by 7.15am (latest) on Wed 13th Feb. They will be taken by school bus to the Airport where they will board Flight 1T505 to Port Elizabeth at 10.45am. Please ensure that they have had breakfast as there is no service on 1time flights. They will arrive in Port Elizabeth at 12.25, where they will have lunch and then travel by bus from Port Elizabeth to East London.
In East London the rowers will be staying at Chandlers Guest House (Tel No - 043 743 1494) from Wed 13th to Monday 18th February.
The accommodation is on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis. A full buffet breakfast will be served in the mornings and a buffet dinner will be provided each night.
The regatta takes place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. A snack pack (consisting of biltong, nuts, energybars, sweets, etc) will be provided to each rower on each of these days, and there will be water and energade available all day for the three days (each rower must bring their own water bottle). They will also be given R50,00 per day to buy themselves lunch and any other refreshments required.
On Sunday the rowers will be able to go to the beach in the morning (weather permitting) and then out for lunch and a movie in the afternoon.
They will depart from East London on Flight 1T302 at 9.00am on Mon 18th February and will arrive at Oliver Tambo International Airport at 10.25am. Parents are please to arrange for rowers to be collected from the airport.
Lunch in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday and Breakfast in East London on Monday will need to be paid for by the rowers themselves, as well as cold drinks at the guest house in the evenings. Please ensure that you send sufficient pocket money to cover these costs.
Full school uniform is to be worn on both flights (including the new formal rowing hat – this is now available at the Dragons Den at a cost of R95,00 per hat).
Uniform for regattas is as follows :-
Thursday and Friday – Blue shorts/tracksuit pants
Blue/black socks
Slops or takkies
New trisuit
Sponsored shirt (which rowers will receive before departing)
Bishop Bavin Rowing Dri Mac or any blue Dri Mac
Sponsored warm top (which rowers will receive before departing)
Blue Rowing Cap
Saturday Same as above except new blue rowing shirt is to be worn.
Please ensure that your child has both full correct uniforms (school uniform and regatta uniform)
Rowers will be attending Prize Giving in school uniform as well. Please ensure that enough clean shirts are available. There is a laundry service available at Chandlers Guest House.

PLEASE COULD EACH ROWER LET MRS BLACKIE OR DENNIS HAVE A COPY OF THEIR ID, PASSPORT OR BIRTH CERTIFICATE BEFORE 12 FEBRUARY. THIS IS REQUIRED BY THE AIRLINE.
AN INDEMNITY FORM MUST BE COMPLETED AND SIGNED FOR EACH ROWER. PLEASE LET MRS BLACKIE OR DENNIS HAVE THIS COMPLETED FORM BY 12 FEBRUARY.
