St. Stithians Regatta - Summary

Congratulations to all crews who participated in the St. Stithians regatta on Sat 20th Sept.
The morning started cold & windy and unfortunately conditions, (especially on the water) remained like this for the entire day. What began as a tail wind in the morning, swung round to a full on head wind by the end of the regatta. Tough conditions for all the rowers, especially those novices who were competing for the first time.
Despite this, our rowers did us proud, entering a total of twenty events and taking ten 1st places , seven of which were in "A" races. There were three 1st places in "B" races. In total we had another nine finishes in 2nd & 3rd positions.
To put this in context, the next best school was Holy Rosary with seven wins, followed by St. Andrews with six.
Once again - congratulations to the crews and coaches for such a great start to the new season
